Exhaustion

It's 11:19pm on the east coast. Saturday night. I'm a pastor's wife. On Saturday nights, if Joseph wakes up in the middle of the night, I get up and take care of him and let Jon sleep. We're having company tomorrow. Nate: My brother in law, Liz: My sister in law-in law , Alicia: My 5 year old niece, Abby: My 3 year old niece and Anna: My almost 2 year old niece (OMG!!!--she's 6 months older than Joseph. We had a Missions dinner tonight at church. Jon's still working on his sermon. Downstairs is all picked up (at least according to my standard). I didn't vacuum, but I don't want to do it now. We have a cat "sleeping over" for a couple of nights, due to bitter cold and his "grandmother" who is VERY scared of him is visiting. Can I go to bed now? Why AM I still up??

This is my white lasagna...what I made for all of us for dinner tomorrow. Recipe to follow.

Joseph and Anna.
They had so much fun and were so good playing with each other.

The three princesses: Anna, Abby, Alicia.

Now it's 11:31pm. If the lasagna is cool, I'm going to bed.

Good night blogworld. Goodnight.

Frosted glass

We have this skinny window in our downstairs bathroom. There's a little curtain on it, but it doesn't really provide any privacy, it just makes the window look a bit better. No one can see into this window unless they are on our patio out back, which no one is now, cuse well, it's winter. My mom was talking to me about how we will want something that is a bit more covering at some point. We talked about getting something that could "frost" the window. I know they make sheets of contact paper to do such a thing. But why buy something that cost a lot of money that made for a specific thing, when you have something else in the house that will do the same thing and basically, cost you no money.

So here you have it!!!

MY PRESS'NSEAL-FROSTED WINDOW!

I even posted it on Glad's website:

I put a piece of press'nseal on the outside of the bottom part of our bathroom window. It creates a frosted glass effect that should give us just enough privacy without compromising sunlight.

'Cuse I can't NOT talk about him

Can we just take a look at this little BOY for a moment.....

Does he not look SOO grown up?? How did this happen? One of Jon's best friends celebrated his 2 year anniversary with his wife this week. Jon was in the wedding and we went out to Michigan to celebrate their union. I didn't know it while we were there, but I was pregnant. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago!!!

No, no...this doesn't mean #2 is on the way. I want 3-4 years between them...so, unless you get another "Before you find out on facebook" e-mail, you don't need to bug us for another year.

Guacamole

Mmmmm....

Jon just gave me some of this....to munch while he finishes dinner.

Perfectly ripe avocado, freshly grated Parmesan cheese and just a bit of fresh lime juice. Just the way I like it! I didn't like guac until my trip to CA this past summer. My brother A made it this way and I couldn't get enough of it!

Joseph is still sleeping...hmm...maybe he'll sleep 'till morning and Jon and I will get an evening to ourselves

....and most likely, Jack Bauer.

Trying to catch up...

I'm going to try to write more in the next few weeks, in an attempt to catch you all up on the goings on of my life.

HOWEVER...

Here is my disclaimer. They will not be in chronological order AT ALL!!! I know I have lots of things to share about Christmas and Council, but I will simply have to write what I can squeeze enough time for at that moment. Jon is cooking dinner, Joseph mysteriously went back down for a 3rd nap..though the other two were not so great..and I should be typing hymn lyrics into a powerpoint, but instead, here I am.

Now that that's written and done. Here's my brief blog...

FINALLY, my mom has this:

A purple 4th Generation
16GB iPod nano.

..............with lots of great accessories.

Given to her in lots of small packages opened at our home on Christmas Eve, almost every one opened with the comment
"No, Veronique. It's too much!"

with one exception..............................................

When going on our "field trip" to the Apple Store, my mom saw the "socks" for iPods. You know what I'm talking about. The little scarf-case-cozy for an iPod. I told her (this was in July) "I'll make you one".

Well, I made good on my promise and here it is. It was simple enough and you can't buy one that has been laced up like a corset (yeah, you read that right and if you know me well, you're not surprised)

It laces all the way up, then comes up and over the top...

...and secures over a mother of pearl button to keep the iPod safely tucked inside.

Enjoy Mom!

But...

I want to read. I want to write. I felt very inspired by a movie I just watched; Julie & Julia.

But, the house really needs to be picked up, cleaned and put Christmas stuff away (as sad as I am to admit it).

But I would really rather just sit here and read CG's blog that I'm behind on and write in my own and work on my book with Oreo purring in my lap.

But...But...but...
